21 Aug Nike Adapt BB 2.0 to release different “MAG” color scheme
Nike Basketball’s high-tech Adapt BB 2.0 is expected to be launched with an alternate “MAG” colorway called “Black MAG.” Previously a pure dream among sneaker fans and Hollywood filmmakers alike, power lacing has not only become a practice with recent years; it’s become quite ubiquitous, with Adidas launching both fashion and fitness silhouettes fitted with self-securing software.
The Adapt BB 2.0 is one of the most advanced of these offerings, and this colorway “Black MAG” is an alternative node to Michael J. Fox ‘s beloved Nike MAG from the Back to the Future II of 1985. In the heels of a proper “MAG” colorway that launched earlier in August, the “Black MAG” — which, given its description, did not include The Cool Kids in making — substitutes the traditional wolf-gray base hues of the OG MAG for a solid black ton. However, Classic Jackson Pollock-esque blue splatters appear on both the forefoot and the rounded heel column, which stick out much better than ever due to the solid foundation they are seated on.
A plastic, textured sheath with a white Swoosh ensconced the forefoot and forms the foundation for the suit system: Two simple winch-like movements strengthen or release it. Such mechanisms are operated in the midsole by a tiny rechargeable motor which is itself denoted by a wide piece of plastic with two circular lights. Either the lace mechanism and the color monitor of these lights are operated by an app on the ios or Android smartphone of the user, and the motor is driven by a charging board included. Ultimately, multi-color details on the lateral forefoot and an ice blue outsole with a Zoom Air forefoot package, marked by vibrant circles, complete the feel. The Nike Adapt BB 2.0 “Black MAG” will be released via Nike SNKRS Japan on September 2, and is priced at ¥38,500 JPY (approximately $364 USD). – Adapted from Hypebeast
