Police in Ventura County, California have called off their quest for the night which was initiated on Wednesday afternoon after Rivera’s four-year – old son was discovered alone in a leased boat on Lake Piru.

The police had confirmed four hours ago that they were looking for a “possible drowning survivor” in the lake after another boat spotted the little boy in the boat alone. Rivera was surfing with her son when she went down and never resurfaced for unexplained causes, according to TheWrap.

While Rivera went gone, it’s unclear. This was her son Josey, according to TMZ, who informed investigators that Rivera had fallen into the water and would not come out again. She was apparently already in the boat with her life vest and Josey was asleep when he was rescued. Rivera ‘s car with her purse inside was discovered in the parking area.
