09 Nov Kanye West faces $1Million USD lawsuit over unpaid wages
According to reports, Kanye West is now facing a lawsuit against unpaid wages from his opera performances in Nebuchadnezzar back in 2019. The $1 million lawsuit filed by the show staff at The Hollywood Bowl claims that they have not been paid for their involvement.
Exclusively live-streamed on Tidal, Nebuchadnezzar was a Vanessa Beecroft-directed opera that chronicled the Babylonian empire monarch featuring music from the Kanye West Sunday Service Collective.
Documents received note that ‘Ye’ failed to properly compensate [them] and many dozens of other persons performing production services, including background actors, performing as members of the public.’ Going on to note, ‘the defendants supervised, controlled and run the production, and the aggrieved employees worked on the production for many hours and were not paid in due time for their work, or paid for their work.
