10 Aug I’m certainly not going to let the ‘Edge’ attention get to me says Shruti Haasan
Shruti Haasan is on cloud nine, appreciating that she was having her first initial ‘Edge’ video clip. The song, she says, is all about getting to those corners of your emotions that are usually brushed under the carpet, a song about not being embarrassed or afraid of the passion and rage that one has about love and life.
Since the release of the single on Saturday, the actress earned acclaim from several of her contemporaries, such as AR Rahman, Mahesh Babu, Aishwarya Rajesh, Vishnu Vishal, Naga Chaitanya, Balaji Mohan, Thaman and Devi Sri Prasad. And she’s pleased with the feedback she’s evoked.
Says Shruti, “At the moment, I was a little nervous about releasing this song, but I never expected it to get that kind of warm welcome. It’s all my team’s song, and I thank everyone associated with it. I was very happy to read appreciative tweets from celebrities like AR Rahman Sir, Suresh Raina Sir, Hrithik Roshan Sir, Mahesh Babu Sir, and more. I’m confident I won’t let the ‘Edge’ recognition go to my head and just feel content in my gut. There is no question that this recognition would allow me to drive myself further and focus on my songs. Besides actors, several of the representatives of the public who have listened to the album always support and wish me well.
In addition to writing, performing and working on the album, Shruti also shot the video on her own during the lockdown. Karan Parikh has co-produced this film, adapted from a poem penned by the actress when she was alone during this pandemic. – Adapted from Times of India
