20 Nov George Clooney explains why he has given 14 friends $1 million each
In a recent GQ interview, George Clooney announced that he gave $1 million to 14 of his close friends to help him out on his grind to stardom.
Clooney elaborated, “I was just one guy. Both of them have been ageing. I was 52 or something like that. And most of my peers are older than I am. And I thought, what I’ve got are these guys… I slept on their sofas when I was broken. When I was shattered, they lent me money. They helped me when I needed some support over the years.
And I thought, you know, without them I don’t have any of this While his close friends were already in his will, he realised that there was no need to wait until something tragic happened to him before he paid back his friends saying, “I just thought, literally, if I get hit by a bus, they’re all in the will, so why am I waiting to get hit by a bus? ”
The actor also reveals that $14 million in cash is not that physically big, revealing that he was able to put all the cash in a couple of Tumi bags. Moving it around was a very hard part, as he was concerned of getting robbed. In the end, he, an associate, and a few speechless security guards were able to move the cash in a van that looked like a flower van. – Adapted from Hypebeast
