A man in Gopeng was recently arrested after acting aggressively in public by climbing on top of a police car and waving a scythe around.

According to Bernama, the incident took place around 8am outside of the Gopeng police station yesterday, 8 September.

Perak police chief Dato’ Pahlawan Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said that the man arrived at the police station on a motorcycle and brought a machete as well as a scythe with him.

Prior to climbing on top of the car, the man had entered the police station and went to the information counter.

An officer tried to calm him down but he headed outside of the station.

The suspect left the police station and headed towards the road but he was blocked by officers at the gate of the police station.

“Polis also placed a patrol car in the middle of the road to block members of the public from passing that area,” Mior added.

Initial investigations found that the suspect ran amok and stole a motorcycle near the Lawan Kuda market before heading to the Kopisan residential area and the Gopeng police station.

The man was arrested after a team from the Fire and Rescue Department arrived at the location and sprayed him with water from a hose

A video of the incident went viral on social media.

In the clip, the shirtless suspect can be standing on top of the patrol car while onlookers watched him.

He then got off the vehicle after being sprayed and several police officers rushed to apprehend him.

Urine test results found that the suspect was positive for methamphetamine and heroin, in addition to having 16 previous records related to criminal and narcotics cases. – Adapted from World of Buzz
